Art-themed events held at Kichijoji PARCO and Ikebukuro PARCO
PARCO has held art-themed events at each PARCO store. Kichijoji PARCO held PARCO ART & CULTURE from November 1st to 30th, and Ikebukuro PARCO held Emotions 183 from October 17th to November 30th.
Kichijoji PARCO's PARCO ART & CULTURE was participated by more than 150 artists, including up-and-coming artists and creators rooted in the local community. Art works were exhibited in more than 10 places both inside and outside the building, and events such as talk events and rooftop events are held a total of 5 events. More than 2,200 customers visited the store during the exhibition period, and different scenery was seen from the usual Kichijoji PARCO, such as taking pictures of the monument at the entrance and the art works.
Emotions183 held at Ikebukuro PARCO, we collaborated with the creative studio R11R, which has partnerships with creators, and colored the interior of Ikebukuro PARCO with art by a total of 183 creators. About 600 people participated in the campaign to present stickers of the displayed works to those who posted their favorite 4 photos from the art works in the museum with the hashtag #emotions183 on Twitter. It seems that not only fans of creators but also a wide range of customers, mainly young people, enjoyed viewing art, such as customers who came to the store without knowing that an art exhibition was being held.
By exhibiting the works of various artists at PARCO, PARCO supports new talent and disseminates art to the city.
