PARCO's culture festival P.O.N.D. was held
A festival of fresh creators P.O.N.D. (Parco Opens New Dimension) was held from October 7th to 17th.
P.O.N.D. is a festival that mixes various cultures such as art, fashion, entertainment, and technology, and this year was the third time it was held. The concept for 2022 was IN DOUBT / Thinking about the invisible. We hoped that each artists pose questions to the viewer through their work, and the viewer have their own questions and create new interpretations. This year, the number of art works by up-and-coming artists was exhibited at 22 locations in Shibuya PARCO, an increase of 12 locations from last year.
We collaborated with SHIBUYA PARCO ART WEEK 2022, screen a music documentary, and exhibited the works of seven game creators supervised by IGN JAPAN and the work of the audio-visual artist Eguo, so that you could enjoy the viewing experience throughout Shibuya PARCO. Eguo is an artist who won the PARCO PRIZE at the XR global content award NEWVIEW AWARDS 2021 of the project NEWVIEW in which PARCO participates.
On the first day, at the reception, P.O.N.D. participating creators interacted with each other, and many customers enjoyed works that suddenly appeared at various places in Shibuya PARCO. A total of about 100 people participated in the DJ event, about 500 people in the opening party, and about 10,000 people watched the live talks by the participating creators, showing excitement from the first day.
