Shinsaibashi PARCO Won Three Awards for Architecture and Sustainability
Shinsaibashi PARCO, which opened on November 20, 2020, has won three awards so far. The architecture and environment-friendly facility planning has been highly evaluated.
1. Shinsaibashi PARCO and Daimaru Shinsaibashi received the Osaka Mayor's Award for 41st Osaka City Landscape Architecture.
We received comments from the review committee consisting of eight experts. Comments are below.
“The Daimaru Shinsaibashi store emphasizes Volis' traditional geometric patterns and piles them up on the rooftop floor. Shinsaibashi PARCO has a modern design with the theme of drapes. Entries in which the two buildings are paired create a striking view of the city and are wonderful. In particular, the night view from Midosuji Street has a wonderful effect because of the brilliance of the two buildings. The essence of urban landscapes is to perceive the cityscape as a block, not just one building, but two or three buildings in a row.”
2. J. Front Retailing Co., Ltd., Shinsaibashi PARCO, and Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store received the Osaka Governor’s Award for Climate Change Measures in fiscal 2021.
J. Front Retailing Group's efforts to reduce CO2 at Shinsaibashi PARCO and Daimaru Shinsaibashi store contributed to the reduction of greenhouse gases in Osaka Prefecture. Agree and participation in TCFD recommendations, SBT, and RE100 throughout the group. And we are systematically promoting the procurement of electricity derived from renewable energy at stores nationwide.
It was evaluated for the above reasons.
3. Shinsaibashi PARCO received Gold Award for IAUD International Design Award 2021.
The space design of the toilet and baby rest room facilities on the 3rd and 5th floors that we were highly praised for our efforts in consideration of comfort, globalization, and diversity, such as the installation of interiors with consideration for functionality and design, and the installation of an all-gender toilet.
