Urawa PARCO is being held 15th Festival Ichigosai to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the opening
Urawa PARCO, which opened in 2007, celebrated its 15th anniversary on October 10, 2022. To commemorate the 15th anniversary, 15th Festival Ichigosai* is being held from October 7th with the concept of "15 years worth of Ichigo Ichie* with love".
*15 can be read as Ichigo, “sai” means festival in Japanese.
*Ichigo Ichie is literally meaning "One lifetime, one encounter," the phrase comes from the writings of a 16th century tea ceremony master, Sen no Rikyu. He called upon his disciples to give total focus and sincerity to each act of the tea ceremony for a guest, because that particular moment will only exist once, and must be fully lived and realized.
One of the themes of the 15th Festival Ichigosai is community co-creation. We strive to revitalize the region and improve the attractiveness of the city by working with local people to create opportunities and places for communities where people of all generations can voluntarily participate, such as local traditional industries, cultural resources, and sustainability.
We held the URAWA Museum Collaboration 2022 befitting the fall of art from October 7th to 23rd. Urawa PARCO has collaborated with museums rooted in the local community, The Museum of Modern Art, Saitama and URAWA ART MUSEUM. Past exhibition posters were exhibited, a visiting museum shop was held, and original goods were presented. Not only regular visitors to Urawa PARCO, but also people of all ages stopped by, and the gift of original goods was well received that the distribution was completed in two days.
15th Festival Ichigosai continue to hold various events until March.
We will hold POP UP SENTO PETIT PARCO YU - Let's give a little happiness! and 2k540 POP UP STORE from November 18th. At the POP UP SENTO PETIT PARCO YU -Let's give a little happiness!, we collected public bath and sauna goods. 2k540 POP UP STORE is a pop-up shop in a facility with the theme of " Japanese monozukuri" (Japanese product making) under the elevated railway between JR Akihabara station and Okachimachi station. And we will hold events for community co-creation centered on Urawa Reds.
